Importing locations

The quickest way to add many locations is a CSV import. Go to Import & sync in the app and download the template, or use your own spreadsheet.

Columns

Headers are matched case-insensitively, and common alternative names are recognised. Only name is required.

Any other column becomes a custom field. Use custom:<key> to name one explicitly, and social:<network> (for example social:instagram) for social links.

Tags and hours

Separate multiple tags with a pipe: Retail|Organic.

Write opening hours in a compact form, with ranges separated by semicolons:

mon-fri 08:00-20:00; sat-sun 09:00-18:00

Import modes

• Upsert (default) updates locations that match by id or external_id and adds the rest.
• Replace also removes locations from earlier CSV imports that are not in the new file.

Errors

If a row can’t be imported, for example because a latitude isn’t a number, the import continues and the row is listed with the reason. Fix the rows and upload again.

Geocoding

Rows without lat and lng are geocoded in the background, with no API key to set up. Results are cached, so re-importing the same addresses is fast. If an address can’t be found, set its coordinates by hand on the location.

Import history

Import & sync lists recent imports and syncs with how many locations were created, updated, deleted or failed.
