Getting started
Install the app, add your first locations and put the locator on your store in about ten minutes.
This guide takes you from installing the app to a live store locator on your storefront.
1. Install the app
Install MapStockist from the Shopify App Store. It opens inside your Shopify admin and you start on the Free plan, which allows up to 10 locations. You can upgrade at any time from Plans.
2. Add locations
You have three options:
- Add one by hand. Go to Locations → Add location, fill in the address and save. The address is geocoded in the background.
- Import a spreadsheet. Go to Import & sync, download the template, fill it in and upload it. See Importing locations.
- Sync. On Premium, connect a Google Sheet or sync from Shopify Locations.
- Try it with sample data. On Import & sync, load a set of sample locations to see the locator working, then remove them in one click.
3. Add the locator to your theme
In your Shopify admin, open Online Store → Themes → Customize and either:
- add the Store locator app block to any section of a page, or
- switch on the Floating store finder app embed to show a “Find a store” button on every page.
See Storefront widget for all the options.
4. Check your hosted pages
The app also creates pages on your own domain through the Shopify App Proxy:
| Page | URL |
|---|---|
| Locator | https://yourstore.com/apps/stockist |
| Location page | https://yourstore.com/apps/stockist/locations/{slug} |
| Directory | https://yourstore.com/apps/stockist/directory |
| Sitemap | https://yourstore.com/apps/stockist/sitemap.xml |
Link to the locator from your main menu or footer and you are live.
