Keep your stockist list in Google Sheets (and still have a great locator)
Your sales team already lives in a spreadsheet. Here’s how to make it the source of truth for your store locator.
Most brands already have a stockist list. It usually lives in a spreadsheet the sales team updates whenever a new shop signs up. The problem starts when someone has to copy those changes into the website.
Make the sheet the source of truth
Instead of copying, connect the sheet. With Google Sheets sync, the locator reads a published copy of your sheet in the background and applies the changes.
Set up the sheet
- Put one location per row, with a header row.
- Use the column names from the import guide.
Zip,PostcodeandPostal codeall work. - Add a
Tagscolumn with values separated by|, likeRetail|Organic. - Add an
External IDcolumn so each row keeps its identity between syncs.
Publish and connect
In Google Sheets choose File → Share → Publish to web, pick CSV, and copy the link. Paste it into the app under Google Sheets sync.
What happens next
New rows are added, changed rows are updated, and addresses without coordinates are geocoded. If a row has a problem, the sync report tells you which row and why.
